Risk Protection Arrangement

Claim/Incident Report

Below are the 13 types of claim that may be submitted for consideration under the RPA.

Make a Property Damage Claim

(Sections 1 & 2 of RPA Membership Rules)

Claim made by RPA Member in respect of any financial loss sustained as a result of consequential damage to buildings, contents, and the interruption of the school’s normal activity.

Make an Employer’s Liability Claim

(Section 3 of RPA Membership Rules)
Claim that has been made, or will potentially be made, against the RPA Member by an Employee in respect of injury, damaged property, or other financial loss.

Make a Public Liability Claim

(Section 4 of RPA Membership Rules)
Claim that has been made, or will potentially be made, against the RPA Member by a Pupil/Pupil’s family or another member of the general public in respect of injury, damaged property, or other financial loss.

Make a Legal Expenses Claim

(Section 12 of RPA Membership Rules)
Claim made by the RPA Member in respect of reasonable and necessary costs incurred in defending the School's rights.

Make a Governor’s Liability Claim

(Section 5 of RPA Membership Rules)

Claim that has been made, or will potentially be made, against an indemnified individual or individuals deemed responsible for any specified Wrongful Act*

*This includes breach of duty/trust, neglect, error, misstatement, omission, breach of warranty of authority, and libel & slander.

Make a Professional Indemnity Claim

(Section 6 of RPA Membership Rules)
Claim that has been made, or will potentially be made, in respect of a breach of professional duty † by the RPA Member, or any Governor, or Employee of the RPA Member.

† This includes a failure to teach, libel, slander & defamation, and breach/loss of personal data

Make an Employee & Third Party Dishonesty Claim

(Section 7 of RPA Membership Rules)

Claim made by RPA Member in respect of pecuniary/financial loss that has resulted from deliberate act(s) of fraud or dishonesty committed by an Employee.

Make a Money
Claim

(Section 8 of RPA Membership Rules)
Claim made by RPA Member in respect of lost money/money equivalent for which the RPA Member is responsible, and loss or damage to property safeguarding said money/money equivalent (e.g. locks, safes, etc.).

Make an Accidental Catastrophic Injury/Personal Accident Claim

Make an Accidental Catastrophic Injury/Personal Accident Claim
Claim made by RPA Member in respect of the death, total permanent disablement, loss of limb, or loss of an eye of an Employee, Governor, Volunteer, or Pupil of the RPA Member while on School business.

Make a UK Travel Claim

(Section 10 of RPA Membership Rules) 

Claim made by RPA Member in respect of a financial loss having been sustained whilst travelling within the UK*

* Loss includes: lost/damaged Baggage, lost Money, or Cancellation, Curtailment, Replacement, Rearrangement and/or Change of Itinerary.

Make an Overseas Travel Claim

(Section 11 of RPA Membership Rules)
Claim made by RPA Member in respect of a financial loss having been sustained whilst travelling Overseas†

† Loss includes: lost/damaged Baggage; lost Money; lost Travel Documents; Cancellation, Curtailment, Replacement, Rearrangement & Change of Itinerary; Disruptive Pupils; Missed International Connection or Departure; Foreign Hospital Confinement; Medical Expenses, Repatriation & Emergency Travel; Piste Closure; Search and Rescue; Political and Natural Disaster Evacuation; Kidnap Consultants Costs; Personal Liability; Legal Expenses.

Make a Cultural Assets Claim

(Section 13 of RPA Membership Rules)

Claim made by the RPA Member in respect of the cost involved in reinstating a damaged cultural asset, antique or collectible.

Make a Cultural Assets Valuation Claim

(Section 13 of RPA Membership Rules)
Request made by RPA Member to have a cultural asset, antique or collectible valued.

Make a Cyber Incident Claim
Any actual or suspected unauthorised access to any computer, other computing and electronic equipment linked to computer hardware, electronic data processing equipment, microchips or computer installation that processes, stores, transmits, retrieves or receives data.
